Worst appliance purchase in 17 years!

we had really high hopes with this machine. it gave us problems from the very beginning. it had a faulty motherboard, broken drum belt and excessive rubbing which caused damage to the drum because the roller fell out of bulkhead. had issues w/in 6 mos. of the purchase.
recently, the drum was hanging too low which caused it to scrape against the inner lining of the which eventually led to a ton of black marks and holes in clothes. messed up a ton of clothes. we went to get a new machine but our warranty from bought an lg today!
it is truly the worst product my wife and i have purchased since getting married in 2004.

we bought the washer dryer set 5 years ago and have had several problems with both units. regarding the dryer, after 3 years we had to replace the dryer belt and idler pulley because the drum was not spinning. this is a known issue as we found several complaints about this problem. at 4 years we started noticing a gas smell when the machine was off. we did the bubble test on the outside line, checked the lint trap and had repair specialists come. the last repairman told us that the gas valve needed to be replaced. cost for this is over $400 with parts and labor. that is more than 50% the cost of a new machine, so it makes no sense to repair it. we will be getting a new unit, but it will not be a samsung product.

it's obvious that i will likely never get a response back from samsung but nevertheless, i will leave my comment for others to see and cease any purchase from samsung in the future.
to keep it short, i had a brand new home, bought this washer and gas dryer set (wasn't cheap) in november 2018. six months ago, it started running on its own while off. the only way to turn it off is to unplug it. i ended up finding a ton of videos online that showed me what the problem was. it is the main circuit board inside one of the big relays where there is a small piece of metal that keeps acting up. so, every day now, i have to tap on the box that houses the circuit board to get the metal piece to switch back.

one feature that was very important to us was the wrinkle release feature. extremely disappointing. the clothes lie on the paddles during the cycle and do not tumble. they are more wrinkled than when we put them in.
very frustrating.

it worked great for about a year and started making a loud grinding noise. purchased another one and the same thing after a year of use. it also leaves dark marks and burnt marks on my clothes. clothes get caught within the tumbler/drum inside. two dryers in two years. never doing samsung again.

the dryer worked fine until the drum cracked after 3 years. this ruined ~ 300$ of clothes. i sought repair from samsung, took 4 conversations to schedule service only to find out i had been lied to about the costs of the service.
a $800 dryer should last longer than 3 years. i will be avoiding samsung appliance going forward.

this unit leaked gas since new. the gas valve was replaced under warranty by samsung and.....the new valve leaks. have to turn the gas on/off to dryer in able to safely use it.

I wish at the store I was told I could choose on which side I could have the dryer door open. It opens to the wrong side of the washer/dryer set-up and it looks like its easy enough to specify before delivery. I hadn't thought about it

This is the worst dryer ever. I have had it three months! The sensor shuts off the dryer before the stuff is dry. The knob was hard to move from the first day and it finally broke! I bought the extra warranty and Samsung said repairing the knob is not covered. Bad product, bad service repair! Horrible product. You can barely put in a few towels and it does not dry them. I wish I had my old dryer back!

I had a dryer before, other brand, and I always had to dry more than one time my clothes.

Past dryers with sensors have not worked well for me. This dryer has blown me away with its ability to dry even a mixed weight batch of clothes. I have only owned this dryer for a few days but it has been hard at work catching up with all the laundry. Wrinkle free and dry clothes. Love it!

I've only used this dryer a few times. I was very pleased with different types of loads that I dried. It is large, quiet, and easy to use. I only wish the end timer was louder. (My dryer is in the basement.) My old dryer was really old, 30 plus years. I hope this Samsung will last as long.

I purchased this not that long ago and got it yesterday. I didn't have much time to test the dryer out until today. I will admit it was the best experience of a product I've ever had. The settings make it things so easy on what you are going to use to dry. It has a cute jingle when you turn it on and it even jingles when the dryer stops. I've used dryers before and it would always overheat my clothes or never dry well enough. With this dryer, I literally loved how it dries blankets quick and not leaving a spot wet and leaving a great warmth that isn't overheated. It really makes drying fun and I really recommend this dryer.

I bought this with the matching washer a few weeks ago and so far I am not disappointed. Seems to dry faster without the wrinkles better than my last dryer. The wrinkle guard works well, and I switched the hinge side of the door so it swings left, nice option.

The Lint Filter design for this dryer is VERY POOR. The Lint Filter Cover is hinged and removable. The problem arises when the plastic filter frame heats up, it expands and the cover does not stay in place. When cleaning the filter the lid separates from the frame. After repeated use the hinge component wear out. I have ordered a spare lint filter from a parts repair company, but they are out of stock until late May. What does this tell you about the Lint Filter design?

We have had this machine for a little over a month now and absolutely LOVE it. The only reason I gave it a 4 on performance is because the back metal panel has started to rattle quite a bit during the spin cycle, but we have a technician coming out on Saturday to take a look see. We tried taping the metal cover down but that didn't help, and my hubby says all the nuts are tight and didn't want to fiddle with it any more. Thank goodness we purchased the extended warranty; otherwise the visit would come out of our pocket.
I was hesitant on getting a machine without an agitator (guess I'm old school), but would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't have super soiled/oily clothing (like a mechanic or farmer perhaps). Our weekend "play clothes", as we call them, come clean and we get pretty grungy around the yard every weekend! I really love the spin cycle too because the clothes are barely damp when they are done, which makes the drying time incredibly quick.
